In the coming weeks, Social Security will pay seniors a new, higher COLA check, with seniors whose birthdays fall within a certain range receiving it first. This month, more than 64 million Social Security pensioners are set to get a larger check, averaging $1,657 per individual.
The average monthly compensation for retired workers in 2021 was $1,565 per month, a considerable rise. The first adjusted check will be given on January 12 for those born between January 1st and January 10th.
On January 19, checks will be distributed to persons born between the 11th and the 20th of the month. The Social Security Administration has released a payment schedule for 2022.
Checks will be mailed to individuals born at the end of the month, commencing on the 20th, on January 26.
Stimulus Checks will be mailed to persons whose birthdays fall at the beginning, middle, and end of the month on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month, respectively. Benefit increases are related to increases in the Consumer Price Index, according to the US Labor Department.

Payments for the month of December 2022. The 14th of December is the second Wednesday. If your payment isn’t received on the specified date, the SSA recommends waiting three more mailing days before calling them.

The average monthly payment for disabled workers will rise by $76 from $1,282 to $1,358 per month. Benefits for a typical couple will rise by $154 per month, from $2,599 to $2,753.
